Reporting Accountant

Accel HR is hiring a Reporting Accountant for one of the offshore marine services companies that provides a variety of services to the oil and gas, and renewable energy industries.
Job Location: Abu Dhabi
Experience:
• Minimum of 4 years previous experience in Marine industry
• Chartered Accountancy Qualification (either CPA, ACA, ACCA or Equivalent).
Job Description:
• Execution of month-end and year-end closing activities as per policies and procedures.
• Subledger vs GL reconciliation on monthly basis, Reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and INTCO reconciliations.
• Taking responsibility of any internal and external audits, through to financial statement completion where applicable.
• Standardization of accounting schedules and implement quality review process
• Preparation of workings for various accounting treatments as per IFRS.
• Responsibility of all accounting activities and reporting with final information without error.
• Monthly VAT reporting in line with relevant tax authorities’ requirements for UAE, KSA and UK.
• Completing the statutory reporting requirements for Group’s Standalone entities in UK, UAE, KSA and Qatar.
• Any other ad hoc tasks as required by the Finance Department.
• Complying with GMS incident/accident reporting processes and any HSE initiatives.
• Ensuring appropriate PPE is worn at all times when required to do so.
• Completing site specific HSE Inductions.
Required Competencies (skills, experience, knowledge):
• Minimum of 4 years previous experience in a similar industry and role
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and FTA requirements
• Experience of interacting with external auditors / Big 4 audit experience
• Detailed knowledge of accounting software applications
• Advanced MS Excel skills
Qualifications/Certificates:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or another related field.
• Chartered Accountancy Qualification (either CPA, ACA, ACCA or Equivalent).
