The Production Manager is responsible for general supervision of all phases of plant operations including: production, quality control, maintenance, warehousing, logistics and shipping.
Responsibilities also include recruiting, hiring and training personnel and facility/physical. In addition the Plant Manager will be responsible for the overall supervision of the administrative staff in the factory, as well as the annual budget planning and execution. He will work closely with the production team to increase productivity and profitability within the manufacturing operation.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of the facility.
- Prepare and update a 6-month look-ahead production schedule for the plant to insure continuous production, while performing at highest efficiency possible, being cost effective and insuring adequate inventory levels.
- Analyze workforce requirements and accordingly coordinate the hiring and training of all manufacturing personnel.
- Monitor operation expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality.
- Maintain Inventory levels and control flow of product.
- Maintain and support a superior safety and housekeeping program.
- Develop and execute the manufacturing budgets.
- Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching and guidance to all operations employees.
- Encourage and promote operating in a continuous improvement environment.
- Measure the level of productivity and ensure its improvement
- Measure the level of quality and ensure its improvement
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures for production methods, quality and safety
Skills
- Engineer with 5+ years’ experience in a key leadership/ management role at a manufacturing facility (Aluminum), out of which at least 3 years in the UAE.
- Previous experience/strong understanding of budgeting/expense management with a basic understanding of financial and accounting practices.
- Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare reports and to analyze data and trends.
- Previous experience in implementing/using continuous improvement/lean tools (Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing.
- Previous experience/understanding of safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies.
- Leadership, team building and advanced coaching skills.
- Ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, with ability to balance production and maintenance needs.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and listening ability.
- A strong ability to be adaptable and flexible.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work with teams and lead decision-making processes in a team environment.
- Highly motivated, results oriented.
