Urgent Requirment for an Operations Manager - Hospital Catering.
Location - UAE & KSA
A degree or technical qualification in Catering Management from a reputable institution/ Graduate/ High school Diploma.
Minimum of 7 years proven experience in Hospitality or Industrial Catering with at least 3 years experience in a Middle Management position.
Scope and general purpose
To manage the overall financial and operational performance of his respective area of responsibility as per the guidelines given by the Sector General Managers & OED-ME.
Responsible for
To ensure that Company and Client owned assets and equipment are maintained in good order, and that repair/replenishment costs are strictly controlled
To ensure that highest standards of health, hygiene and safety are maintained in his operation and to liaise closely with the Company’s Group Environmental Health Officer on these matters.
Liaises with
· Sector GM
· AGM
· HSEQ Manager
· Hr Manager
· Other Departments

Major responsibilities of a Operation Manager are:
To ensure strict adherence to the scope of work detailed in the terms and conditions of the contract under his management.
To ensure that the contract is operated within the budgetary margins established for his operation.
To maintain constant liaison with the Client representative for his operation, and establish a good working relationship.
To ensure that strict cost control systems are established in all departments in the operation, and that they are constantly maintained and monitored.
To monitor ordering of all food and non-food supplies/requirements both internally on site, and from supplier.
To ensure that storage and stock control systems are maintained up to date, and to monitor stock rotation and validity.
To ensure that validity of all employee documentation, e.g. security passes, medical certificates, licenses, vacations where applicable, are maintained, and that timely action is taken for renewal that will not adversely affect his operation.
To ensure employee time sheets are correctly filled in and that they are forwarded to Head Office on time each month.
To liaise with Training Department for Staff Training.
To conduct on-going on the job training on his operation.
To carry out annual evaluations of staff. Make recommendations for employee promotions, salary changes, employee of the month, disciplinary action, including termination where applicable.
To ensure that his employees are aware of the Company policies and procedures and comply with them.
To ensure that he himself is aware of the contents of the UAE Labour Law, and its stipulations regarding disciplinary action in particular.
To ensure that leave schedules are maintained, and that requests for relievers are submitted to Sector General Manager or OED-ME at least two months in advance.
To ensure strict confidentiality of all Company financial information regardless of its nature.
To compile, and submit to H.O, monthly reports on all aspects of his operation that should highlight any problems encountered and actions taken to remedy them.
This report should cover purchasing, personnel, food costs, maintenance, Client communications, special functions/ events, recreational activities, additional works / revenue.
To ensure that copies of all Client correspondence, minutes of site meetings and any other communication, verbal or written, pertinent to his operation are transmitted to the Sector General Manager or OED-ME immediately upon receipt.
The Sector General Manager must be appraised on all offers to the Client prior to submittal. Site Engineers, where applicable, must be involved in offers pertaining to anything within his discipline.
· Closely monitor the performance of all his department heads.
Adhere to the safety regulations set by the Company as well as the Client.
Provide on monthly basis a safety statistic report for his entire operation.
Liaise with the Client all matters related to safety.
Conduct safety meetings with all his department heads and establish a safety committee to closely monitor and update management on safety matters.
To perform any other duties requested by Sector General Manager or OED-ME out of the normal routine but within the scope of work.
He is fully responsible and accountable for HSE Policy and Procedures, which are in place.
· To conform to the Company’s guidelines related to his area as detailed in the Company’s Quality Assurance Program developed on the basis of ISO 9001:2000 Q.M.S.
· Identifying actual potential problems, near misses relating to HSEQ in the delivery of the products and services.
· Identifying opportunities for improvement which may improve the service, make a job safer, improve protection of environment or enable a task to be performed more efficiently.
· Controlling any process that they believe does not meet the required quality standards.
· Informing their Sector GM as soon as possible to ensure that the appropriate corrective action is taken.
· Immediately report any unsafe or unhealthy condition to .
· Report any incident that could affect the health or which has caused or can cause an injury to his line manager immediately.
· Comply with standards that include ISO 2000 & 2005; OHSAS 18001:2007; ISO 14001:2004 & ISO 9001:2008 as appropriate.
· To be medically fit and reporting any illnesses.
· Comply with latest version of IMS standards (ISO 22000; OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45000; ISO 14001, ISO 9001, HACCP) & OSHAD as appropriate
· To attend meetings and training courses as required.
· Included in these duties, you are required to perform any other reasonable tasks requested by the General manager.
