Job Description and Requirements Manage the cost reporting of all allocated projects, including Cost Forecasting, Anticipated Final Cost, Cost of Work Done, Gross Billing and Current Contract Value. Monitor, manage and report on all commercial and contract aspects of all allocated projects and propose mitigating actions at the earliest opportunity to the Contracts Manager or the Program Senior Contracts Manager (functional reporting line). Monitor awareness of all site activities on allocated projects in order to influence decision making from a commercial perspective. Review contractor delivery; including leading the valuation of contracts & attend all progress meetings to actively influence contractor’s commercial behaviours, delivery and activity. Provide pro-active advice and guidance to Construction Directors on all change including proposed scope changes, in accordance with the Program change control systems, and produce all required documentation for approval in accordance with levels of delegated authority including comparative estimates where required in a timely manner. Identify and advise on all commercial risk/claim events at the earliest possible time. Review contractual claims reports, identify emerging problems and recommend solutions for implementation to Program Director for authorisation, as appropriate. Provision of ad-hoc management information to promote informed decision-making. Undertake final account and internal reconciliation on all allocated projects to manage close out as per the project authority, project plan and within agreed timescales. Support pre and post contract procurement activities as and when required. Support the negotiation of all prices under existing contracts and fully participate in the associated Quantitative Risk Assessment and Value Management Workshops, as required. Educated to degree level or equivalent and professional qualification. 5+ years’ relevant railway experience. Good negotiation skills. Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
