Job Description and Requirements
The Project Director is accountable for the planning and execution of the project to achieve the client’s project objectives. This includes developing, leading and motivating the project team and championing high quality delivery and promoting a focus on health and safety. This role is responsible for leading the delivery of high value and / or complex projects involving multidisciplinary teams. Below are some key responsibiities and duties;
Directs and manages an area of the assigned Procurement & Construction in a manner that achieves project requirements for safety, quality, engineering, schedule, construction, and cost management
Managing the Project at the strategic level, the position will take overall management responsibility and accountability to achieve the contracts / project objectives
The project director must have experience, ability and skills to manage resources and oversee finances to ensure that the project progresses on time and on budget
The project director reviews regular progress reports and makes staffing, financial, or other adjustments to align the developing project with broader outcome goals
Preparing and maintaining definitions of the requirements of complex projects
Developing the plans and strategies to successfully delivery the project objectives
Selecting, developing and managing the project team
Identifying, addressing and resolving differences between individuals and / or interest groups
Empowering and inspiring others to deliver successful projects
Agreeing contracts for the provision of goods and / or services, monitoring compliance and managing variances
Establishing and maintaining governance arrangements for the delivery of projects, defining clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities, that align with organisational practice
Engaging with stakeholders, taking account of their levels of influence and particular interests
Preparing, gaining approval of, refining and updating business cases that justify the initiation and/or continuation of projects in terms of benefits, costs and risks
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university with minimum twenty years in execution of FEED / EPC contracts of offshore / onshore Oil & Gas / Petrochemical and Marine Projects
Must have at least five years of experience in similar position for international major Oil & Gas / Marine EPC projects including minimum five years in GCC region
