Job Description and Requirements
Provide technical expertise on all engineering subject matter pertaining to Process engineering and design
Ensure Process design and engineering compliance with relevant codes, standards and Company standards
Coordinate, monitor and handle Process design and engineering with EPC contractor as per project expectation and complete the same within the time frame
Work with other discipline engineers within IPMT, EPC contractor, and ADNOC Engineering / Operation / Site Interface to resolve technical issues and ensure quality Process engineering execution and integrity etc
Perform regular and timely technical reviews of Process engineering deliverables developed by engineering consultants / contractors, ensuring design quality in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices
Ensure integration of overall Process engineering coordination within IPMT Engineering Teams
Review and approval of Engineering Consultant’s and EPC Contractor’s work and ensure compliance with the project specifications, relevant codes and standards, and best industry practices
Coordinate the required engineering participation in the development and analysis of various design options and business models
Contribute input and expertise in the development and analysis of various design options and business models to design optimization and validation
Participate in teams for equipment sizing / equipment selection considering optimization and standardization
Ensure that the facilities are designed in accordance with the latest corporate guidelines with respect to environment and health aspects
Ensure full utilization of the existing facilities while optimizing the facilities required for the new projects
Participate in layout reviews, Model review, design reviews, and technical workshops
Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers
Coordinate technical reviews and bid evaluation, and performance evaluation
Provide technical assistance during installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning
Process technical governance for all process engineering activities for the project
Oversee the process design work performed by process engineers, with support as needed from specialists within Wood worldwide offices
Ensure project work in the office is planned and resourced
Review design data for process systems – P&IDs;, line lists, equipment datasheets and H&MB;, PFD, design pressure temperature diagrams
Participate in safety reviews as required
Manage general communication and conduct regular meetings with Clients and management
Lead, mentor and develop the discipline resources to provide resource and technical governance
Manage and develop capability and capacity of process engineering to deliver successful project outcomes
Manage and develop workshare processes and use to deliver optimum resource solutions with a view to reducing costs base to customers
Manage and expedite continuous improvement activities in support of the business plan
BEng in Chemical engineering
Minimum 15 years of design experience in upstream onshore and offshore Oil and Gas projects
With proven track record of working on conceptual, FEED and EPC phases for major hydrocarbon projects
Depth and breadth of process engineering knowledge and advent of new technology: process simulation, system hydraulics, process control and engineering design, safety in design, inter-disciplinary interfaces, installation and commissioning experience
Problem solving: working independently in specialist areas, optimization of systems, specification of fitness for purpose and standardization, equipment selection and tender evaluation, review of key drawings, troubleshooting and de bottle-necking of existing facilities, assisting the client to establish design parameters, planning and directing multi-disciplinary input
Skill in the use of Unisim (or equivalent), Pipesim, Unisim Flare / Flarenet
Skill in Process Engineering design deliverables including relief valve sizing, development of equipment operating envelopes, PEFS / PFS / PSFS, process safeguarding
Good interpersonal, supervisory communications and coordinating skills
Full understanding of HSE management principles and its application
Working knowledge of all relevant oil and gas international standard and HSE regulations
A combination of strong technical, analytical and innovative skills
Good communication skills and aptitude for taking initiatives are essential, as is the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
