Job Description and Requirements Generator Mechanic Diagnoses, repairs, and maintains a variety of equipment which includes: Generators Light sets, Compressors Ground Storage Units, and Electric switch gear. Works under limited supervision. Requires demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, overhaul, repair, and maintain all types of equipment, and diesel powered engines. Installs specified new or reconditioned parts and/or makes required adjustments and reassembles complete unit. Disassembles engines and mechanical units to inspect parts and operating defects. Executes required preventive maintenance procedures. Performs inspections required by the company or government. Promotes teamwork and actively participates in quality improvement process. Promotes safety awareness and complies with all applicable safety procedures and regulations. Proficiency is typically gained through 24-36 months experience.
