Anesthesia consultant’s work involves pre-, intra- and post-operative care. They deliver anesthesia to patients before surgery and are involved with pain clinic consultations. They admit cases to the ICU. They perform clinic duties and consultations as well as theater anesthesia along with their list of granted privileges. They write notes, reports and summaries and take second call. It is also required of them to attend and give lectures; teach; guide and train junior staff. They must also do rounds, participate in departmental activities.

Writes reports for the pain clinic and notes regarding anesthesia for cases of patients going in for surgery
- Burdens most of the responsibilities as a guide to all other junior staff and according to granted privileges
- May be asked to accompany military patients abroad or provide consultation to other military hospitals and/or establishments
May admit a patient to the ICU (ICU admission) after surgery
- May anaesthetize a patients
- Involved with patients pre-operatively
- Involved with patients post-operatively
- Performing in-patient rounds with the departmental team
- Performs clinic duties in the out-patient department especially to the chronic pain clinic
- Provides consultation to other departments
- Attends and is involved in compulsory morning meetings, lectures, regarding patient cases and department development
- Always takes second call
