· Improve the nutritional intake of military personnel
· Introduce healthy food options, hydration and food labeling
· Audit optimal food safety standards
· Review dietetic clinics and closely manage weight management programmes
· Introduce & manage performance and environment specific nutrition
· To create healthy lifestyle for military personnel by:
· Increase health awareness and encourage healthy behavior through lectures, events, etc.

· Evaluate priorities for the team and provide multi-sectorial health technical leadership
Training and Development
· Organize and facilitate Continuing Medical Education(CME) opportunities for self and staff ensuring selected sessions comply with HAAD Category 2 criteria; and assisting staff with keeping an accurate CME portfolio for HAAD renewal
· Using critical appraisal skills review new literature and research in the areas of dietetics, food safety, nutrition and health education and feedback to staff relevant changes in best practice.
· Send relevant emails to staff on any upcoming CPD courses/opportunities to attend externally
· Maintain dietetics registration and participate in ongoing CPD programs.
Resource Development
· Coordinate and approve any development or annual reviews of Health Education materials ensuring resources developed align with and are supported by evidence based best practice.
· Assist in the development of the PRC-PG Application, specifically in the Nutrition and Dietetic, and Health Education Sections. Lead on any update and development of the Weight Management Program (WMP) resources (WMP book, WMP recipes)
Maintain departmental policies and procedures and monitor initiatives
· Maintain (review and update) a comprehensive Nutrition, Dietetic, Health Education, Food safety policies and procedure manual including all relevant information pertaining to operational aspects of all concerned sections
· Maintain (review and update) specific Dietetic care plans for the most common therapeutic diets seen in PG and ensure these are up to date and use evidence based best practice.
· Review and assist if required implementation of the PRC-PG Food Safety, and Food and Hydration Policies; Recipe analysis; Kitchen audits and food safety standards; Generic food labeling system; Weight management programme; Healthy living course training pack (CTP); and Health campaigns
Reports and Record Keeping
· Collate, write and file monthly and yearly Sectional reports for PG Training Directorate outlining all activities in both Nutrition and Dietetic and Health Education Sections.
· Ensure data collected is useful and accurately reflects the clinics, lectures, campaigns and audits. Review all data collected and compile statistics for the monthly sectional reports.
· Receive all health living lectures delivered across PG and associated validations and question bank responses.
Communication
· Regularly communicate and meet with PG Training Directorate regarding Sections’ activities and any issues or concerns that require military assistance.
· Regularly communicate and meet with PG Logistics and PG Contracts and Finance to ensure Food Safety and Food and Hydration policies are understood, implemented and reflected in contractual changes with Catering.
Staff Management
· Interview and select new staff for the Nutrition, Food Safety, Dietetic, and the Health Education Sections when required.
· Provide training for new staff and provide a copy of the staff induction folder for Nutrition, Food Safety, Dietetics or Health Education and a suitable mentor for new staff to ensure transition into Units.
· Assist Nutrition, Food Safety, Dietetic and the Health Education staff by addressing operational related concerns with the respective operational manager.
· Ensure to visit units as required and technically review individual staff duties and responsibilities and consider any operational concerns from a technical perspective they or their Unit may have. Whilst at Units meet with Unit Training Officers and Unit Logistics or other military personnel as required.
· Conduct monthly Technical meetings for the Nutrition, Food Safety, Dietetic, and Health Education Sections; including agenda and minutes dissemination to stakeholders
· Mentor staff on the following aspects
ü Delivery and presentation of lectures and campaigns;
ü Food Safety or food and hydration inspections;
ü Review and analysis of new recipes using ESHA programme;
ü Dietetics clinics
