-Job Summary:
A very big telecommunication company is looking for an IT Systems (DC) Operations Manager with at least 9 years of experience.
Operation Manager will also ensure a smooth transition of production systems from engineering teams to operation teams in terms of documentation and SLA and will follow up on any implementations to ensure the best practices are followed regarding cabling, mounting and installations.
-Job Description:
•Maintain the Data Center environment including storage, servers, network devices, back-ups, job scheduling, Data Center operations, and supporting infrastructure and applications.
•Manage daily operational tasks and problem management
•Maintain performance, conformance, and availability of production systems in Data Center 24x7.
•Develop, improve, and implement Data Center operations systems, processes, policies and procedures in support of organizations mission
•Ensure agreed SLAs are maintained and delivered as per customer’s needs
•Ensures a proper handover is delivered to the operation team
•Reporting on Data center issues, performance, incidents, projects, and achievements.
•Managing and developing teams of engineers to provide both technical and leadership expertise, ensuring the quality of delivered services.
-Qualifications Required:
•A minimum of 3 years in relevant management position, and total 9 to 11 years of experience
•Proven track record leading a team that manages highly available, resilient applications, databases, networks, storage area networks
•Proven track record working alongside third party partners and vendors to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes
•Excellent communication skills. Ability to write reports and communicate information verbally to various levels.
-Technical Experience Required:
•Ensures 24x7 operations and monitoring of the infrastructure “Email, DNS, LDAP, radius, DB, web-servers, Application servers, virtualization, hosting, networking and cloud computing”.
•Strong understanding of Linux “preferred RedHat Enterprise Linux” and windows “preferred server editions” operating system.
•Strong knowledge of DNS caching and authoritative environment “preferred bind and djb”.
•Strong knowledge of Email systems “preferred Dovecot, horde postfix, and Exchange”.
•Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies “preferred VMware, KVM, and Hyper-V”.
•Strong knowledge of Databases environments “preferred MySQL, MsSQL, MongoDB, and Oracle”.
•Strong knowledge of web servers “preferred Apache, IIS, and nginx”.
•Strong knowledge of web applications “preferred tomcat, websphere, and Jboss”.
•Strong knowledge of storage technologies and environments “preferred EMC VNX series”.
•Strong knowledge of Backup technologies and environments.
•Strong knowledge of Disaster recovery and data centers services continuity.
•Strong experience with high volume distributed / high-available services and clusters.
•Strong understanding of Hardware and software RAID and iSCSI issues, troubleshooting and problem solving.
•Strong knowledge of the intercommunication TCP/IP “firewalls , switching, routing and Load-balancing”.
