RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Devise and employ fruitful sourcing strategies
2. Negotiate with external vendors to secure the most advantageous terms
3. Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services for the plant.
4. Finalize details of orders and deliveries.
5. Examine and re-evaluate existing contracts
6. Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
7. Collaborate with key persons to ensure the clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
8. Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients
9. Anticipate unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies
10. Perform risk management regarding supply contracts and agreements
11. Control spending and build a culture of long-term savings on procurement costs
12. Generate regular and special reports for the Supply Chain Manager that summarize and forecast business activities and escalate critical issues to provide effective recommendations in meeting the key challenges.
13. Must understand, comply and enforce all Co. Environmental, Safety, and Health policies and applicable government Regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
14. Direct and manage the activities and work of subordinates by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, and providing feedback and appraisal in order to maximize subordinate and departmental performance.
Education & Experience
• Minimum Bachelor Degree in supply chain management, economics, finance, operations, engineering, or a related area,
• minimum 6-8 years of experience.
• preferred experience in the plastic industry field, especially spare parts.
SKILLS
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as dexterity in “reading” the market
• Talent in negotiations and networking
• Good knowledge of supplier or third-party management software
• Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
• Experience in collecting and analyzing data
• Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Access) to analyze data and trends.
• Demonstrated strong leadership, team building, and advanced coaching skills.
• Ability to work with teams and lead decision-making processes in a team environment.
