SPEECH/LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
QUALIFICATIONS: MOE approved Department of Education Certification in speech pathology. REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB GOAL: To provide speech and language services for disabled students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Abides by Board policies and other state and federal regulations concerning disabled students.
2. Implements building/therapy schedules.
3. Establishes a screening program for speech/language services in elementary/secondary buildings as appropriate (i.e., articulation tracking for elementary, new referrals, three-year comprehensive reassessments.)
4. Performs and interprets diagnostic evaluations to determine eligibility and appropriate recommendations.
5. Serves as a member of the multidisciplinary team in the referral/diagnostic process.
6. Provides direct/indirect therapy for identified students.
7. Provides therapy through continuous evaluation and annual updating of individual educational plans.
8. Accountable for student status through the use of charts, records, progress reports, etc.
9. Supports hearing screening program and provides input assistance when needed.
10. Provides consulting services to parents, teacher, administrators, and colleagues.
11. Ensures professional growth and support through scheduled staff meetings and related professional readings, conferences, workshops, or inservices.
12. Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Designated by contract.
EVALUATION: The immediate administrative supervisor will evaluate performance of this position
Period Contract: 2 years
Package would depend on qualifications but it is as follows:
Housing allowance BD 150/month
One roundtrip ticket
Salary for Speech and Language: Between BD 300-600 Per month
