Job Description and Requirements 1. Perform Architectural work to meet the overall city development program requirements and standards 2. Review A/E contractor design drawings, specifications, and calculation submittals, and, coordinate the same with work of other disciplines 3. Coordinate Architectural/Engineering activities with those of other disciplines and project management team within the Engineering Department, and, also Royal Commission Departments as and where necessary 4. Provide technical advice to other sections within the MSC and the Royal Commission 5. Prepare proposals for design work including sketches and cost estimates for labor, equipment, and materials 6. Process submittals/substitution requests during construction and address RFI’s 7. Prepare technical specifications, conceptual schemas and scope of work descriptions 8. Prepares Request for Proposal (RFP) documents with design concepts 9. Provides technical assistance during pre-bid conferences, proposal evaluations, and post-award or other contract conferences and value engineering 10. Reviews vendor and shop drawings, and construction materials 11. Performs field inspections and provides professional field support and construction trouble showing as necessary during construction phases 12. Perform forensic support work and offer cost effective optimal remedial solutions 13. Assist in setting out Quality Control (QC) terms related to Architectural construction materials and their correct usage 14. Prepare interface layouts and provide solutions for conflicts 15. Prepare quality and presentation conscious technical correspondence, reports, and studies Experience and Qualifications: 1. A recognized university Degree in Architecture (B.Arch.) with 10 years post-graduate professional experience. Design experience related to large scale community development with emphasis on site development is required specifically on the following areas: Considerable knowledge of the practices and principals of design 2. U.S. registration in the appropriate discipline or U.K. Chartered Architect with Corporate (full professional) membership of the appropriate Institution (PE) or PMP) is required |
