Elasticsearch Senior Engineer

The Elastic Stack engineer will utilize Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Beats and Elastic Agent, and possibly other Elastic Stack components to design and implement highly distributed monitoring solutions.

A qualified candidate will perform the following duties and responsibilities, but are not limited to:

· Designs, implements, and configures Kibana as required, especially Vega-based visualization.

· Designs and configures Elasticsearch clusters.

· Designs Elasticsearch indices to efficiently store data currently optimizing both performance and the need for growth.

· Configures Logstash, FileBeats, and possibly other Elastic Stack components to collect and store the data necessary to meet requirements efficiently.

· Sizes and configures Elasticsearch clusters and shards.

· Develop Elastic alerting solutions using Watcher and Kibana.

· Integrate Alerts with ticketing systems

· Develop Machine Learning (ML) job to dynamically monitor and alert on specific metrics and KPIs

· Follow life cycle processes to move solutions from Dev to Production.

· Participate in group sessions as well as attend and share in agile sprint daily meetings to track progress to ensure the development of solutions is in support of the requirements

Candidate Competencies

Proficiency in one of the following programming languages: JAVA, .Net Python, or Javascript.
Ability to write administration scripts in Bash and Powershell.
Ability to automate software management such as installation, upgrade, and configuration using Ansible.
Deep understanding of Web services such as rest, soap, and rpc methods.
Professional technical writing in English.
Basic understanding of Machine Learning algorithms and techniques.
Understanding the basics of networking especially the role of Load-balancer, Gateway, DNS, and proxy services.
Ability to work in an Agile environment.
Good experience with Git and Git services such as GitHub and Gitlab.
