Global Technology Polyolefin compounds (GT-POC) is part of the Global Technology PP organization within Petrochemicals organization. This global team (~30 people) is responsible for maintaining, developing and growing the Polyolefin Compounds and STAMAX portfolio for the Automotive and New Markets segments. The PPc & SABIC portfolio has seen a strong growth in recent years thanks to the development of new products, rigor product life cycle management (PLCM) and process optimization. SABIC has a clear ambition to continue this growth of the highly differentiated PP-compound and STAMAX portfolio. The global asset footprint is expanding and new opportunities are present via synergies with ARAMCO assets. Compounding and extrusion expertise is key to optimize the global compounding processes in our assets. Besides our traditional PP compounding portfolio, new products like flame retardant grades, mechanical recycling products and PE-compounds require extensive extrusion knowledge targeting best-in-class compounding operation as well as for hardware expansion projects in our ambition to grow the global production capacity. We are currently looking for an extrusion and compounding expert with affinity in product development to lead global projects for the polyolefin compound and STAMAX portfolio. You will work in close collaboration with manufacturing, business and technology in challenging extrusion projects. The position is located in Europe (Geleen or Sittard) and reports to the Senior Manager, Assets and Global Market Support.
Tasks and Responsibilities
The candidate is responsible for leading polyolefin compound extrusion projects on a global basis. In this respect, advanced compounding and extrusion skills targeting the expansion of asset footprint will be a key-element. The main tasks and responsibilities will include: * Leading the global activities around assets expansion projects and extrusion optimization activities. * Qualifying and validation of new compounding lines globally * Leading upscale of new compounding products (Flame retardant, Mechanical recycling, PE, fractional melt flow) * Proposing extrusion improvement plans and executing successful implementations * Screen, validate and implement new technologies in our compounding assets * Network with internal extrusion experts * Focus for IP activities like landscape studies and competitor screening * Providing coaching and training to relevant functions * Working in a multidisciplinary and global setting
Requirements
* MSc or BSc in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or a related discipline * Working experience in extrusion of plastics – six sigma experience is a plus * Demonstrated technology excellence with proven ability of project management and coordination. * Affinity with product development along with sound understanding of materials. * Excellent project leadership capabilities * Ability to think out-of-the-box combined with pragmatism. * Proven capability to convert ideas/concepts into full-scale realization. * Ability to work in cross-functional and global teams. * Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
