Role overview Unipart is setting up a new logistics centre in the ILBZ at Riyadh Airport in Saudi Arabia. The site will support high value technology products. All customs activities from wheels down at airport to final destination in KSA or wider will be managed by the customs team based at the warehouse in the ILBZ. About the Role: You will manage the customs team and the compliant delivery of all customs activity to ensure smooth flow of product into and out of the warehouse. As a skilled and experienced customs manager with extensive knowledge of Saudi Customs, you will ensuring strong relationships with relevant authorities and that all policies and procedures for compliance are up to date. Strict compliance to customs processes will be required to support smooth running of the operation and ensuring product is not held, delayed, or incurs any fines. Key elements of the role include the following: Client * Build and maintain effective relationships with the customer both KSA and wider in relation to customs teams. * Ensure client SLA targets are achieved, in declarations and clearance * Ensure timely reporting and resolution of any issues with the client and by extension client carriers and OEM’s (Original Equipment manufacturers) * Understand client direction and projects to ensure we support and deliver in line with the clients growth ambitions in territory Role * Ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations * Manage relationships with all external parties for customs – Saudi Customs, ILBZ, Customs Broker, Ground handling * Ensure a strong team to deliver the daily requirements for customs transactions, approvals and authorisations * Ensure the team is trained and capable and that all processes are upto date and compliant * Escalate and manage issues to resolution Financial Management * Ownership and accountability of budget for the team and customs charges are accurate. In this role you will be expected to adopt and lead this process for the site as well as Unipart’s established systems for employee engagement, operational excellence, organisational capability, customer engagement and innovation through your team. * You will improve quality of service, increase efficiencies through sustainable and innovative processes. * Ensure that all customer SLA and KPIs are met and exceeded and that a continuous improvement programme is rigorously managed through driving a culture of continuous improvement About You: Finally, we obviously have some key requirements in terms of what we are looking for. Ideally you will have the following qualifications, skills, and experience – but if you don’t tick all of the boxes then we’d still like to hear from you if you think you can clearly demonstrate your ability to excel in the role we have on offer. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 7+ years relevant customs experience 5 years 3PL experience (ideally FMCG/Tech warehouse/distribution experience) Reside in Saudi Arabia Ideally have passed training with Saudi Customs and hold relevant accreditation/licences Experience of obtaining relevant approvals from Local customs authorities Must be familiar with available customs regimes Ideally experience in Free trade zones Knowledge of Fasah system Used to an environment that is constantly evolving Able to deliver high levels of performance A robust individual, able to operate in a pressured environment of personal accountability Customer focused with strong interpersonal and relationship management skills Able to analyse data and derive root cause issues Microsoft Office - Intermediate skills.
