Role description:
• Leading the commercial management function on a major multi - billion $ mixed-use building development scheme from inception to completion.
• Maximise the financial effectiveness and profitability of the project through diligent application of proper contractual and commercial practices with a strong focus on managing cost.
• Managing delivery of the overall commission for Arcadis, including leading the Arcadis team
• Developing an excellent working relationship with the client and the whole project team to work together and successfully deliver the project
Role accountabilities:
• Providing management of Commercial team on the project.
• Responsible for all commercial requirements relating to the project.
• Providing direction and management of project commercial resources (internal and external).
• Perform work in accordance with the agreed project brief, company procedures and the stated governance requirements.
• Ensuring commercial risk and opportunities are proactively managed.
• Maintain client satisfaction.
• Effective management and reporting of project performance.
• Manage the change process.
• Effectively handle claims, claims mitigation and dispute resolution.
• Evaluate suppliers, consultants and contractors invoices.
• Establish and monitor and agreed package budgets.
• Contribute to the creation and maintain an effective project cost.
• Management of contracts and costs.
• Endorse/substantiate contractors payments.
• Ensure timely valuation of contractors/consultants invoices.
• Provide cash flow analysis identifying risks and mitigation.
• Prepare cost outturn forecasts and claim assessments.
• Change control of all contract documentation.
• Ensure timely completion of final accounts.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying / Bachelor in Civil Engineering.
• Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
• At least 15 years of experience required.
• Extensive experience of commercially leading major Building programmes of work as part of the PMC team
• Proven track record of working on major programmes of work from inception to completion.
• Fluency in both oral written and oral English.
• High level of IT literacy.
• Report writing.
• Effective, multi-cultural, interpersonal communications.
• Energy and motivation, with natural drive and excellent communication skills.
• Able to manage assignments from conception through to conclusion.
• Strong team player.
• Able to multitask and manage priorities.
• Ability to summarise detailed work into concise executive level briefs.
• Perception, commercial awareness and an ability to identify value for money solutions to problems.
• Self reliance.
• High level of discretion and integrity.
