Summary
Provides and assists in medical physics services.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
1. Devises computerized patient treatment plans based upon patient information and machine parameters. The plans are approved by the radiotherapist and checked by a senior medical physicist.
2. Performs daily constancy checks on radiation-production machines to assure correct radiological parameters.
3. Performs weekly checks on the teletherapy machines and simulators to assure they meet mechanical optical and beam specifications.
4. Performs regular constancy checks of diagnostic radiology units and other special imaging devices.
5. Assists in the collection of docimeter data.
6. Assists in clinical research.
7. Participates in Department/Unit specific and Hospital wide qualityimprovement plan preferred.
8. Follows all Hospital’s related policies and procedures.
9. Participates in self and other’s education, training and development asapplicable.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education
Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Radiological Physics, Health Physics orother related discipline from a recognized institution is required.
Experience Required
Three (3) years of related Medical/Health Physics experience withMaster’s or five (5) years with Bachelor’s Degree is required
