Job Description:
Responsibilities:
•
Assist with preparing tender documentation, tender analysis and recommendations, etc.
•
Prepare and/or analyse budget/cost estimates
•
Examine, evaluate, and process contractor payment certificates and consultant invoices
•
Maintain payment logs, variation logs and claims logs, etc.
•
Prepare and/or review variation and new rate submissions and prepare and/or review variation/change orders for approval
•
Review construction cost reports, progress reports, etc. received from other consultants/contractors
•
Prepare and update cost report covering the project soft costs
•
Draft and review contractual letters
•
Assist team with review of claims
•
Advice on contractual matters related to financial issues
•
Ensure completeness and validity of all contractual requirements i.e., FIDIC
•
Review quantity/measurement reconciliations so that they are conducted accurately
•
Prepare final account with all supporting documentation
•
Assist in preparation of internal invoices
•
Assist with preparing periodic and ad-hoc cost/financial reports
•
Assist in reviewing and/or compiling contract close-out documentation
•
Participate in various meetings, chair commercial/contract related meetings and record/prepare minutes of meetings
•
Any other duties assigned by functional manager/director
Qualifications & Experience:
•
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost/Commercial Management or Engineering
•
RICS status is a preference.
•
10+ years post graduate demonstrable experience in all aspects of quantity surveying/contracts administration.
•
5+ years of related work experience in building and infrastructure projects
•
Ability to perform difficult estimating activities typical to the engineering and construction industry is required
•
Excellent written and verbal communication skills Familiarity with company and project procedures and practices.
•
Must have a clear understanding of, and ability to work with, construction contract commercial documents, engineering drawings and specifications, etc.
•
Working knowledge of software typically associated with quantity surveying and contracts administration.
