Job Summary
Exercise the highest possible standard of patient care according to his clinical privileges and available resources. To participate in the training and teaching program of the hospital
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures through his/her actions, either directly or indirectly, that superior quality of medical treatment, compassion and understanding is given to every patient served at the Prince Sultan Cardiac Center.
Abides by the Medical Staff Bylaws, Code of Medical Ethics, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff and those specific to the department/division.
Provides the highest attainable standard of medical care for the patients for whom he/she is responsible.
Carries out full range of inpatient and outpatient clinical duties as assigned by the director/head of department and the Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist in accordance with individually approved clinical privileges.
Participates in the on-call duties as required by the department/division.
Teaching of staff assigned for training purposes, and participates with the director/head of department and the Consultant in planning a programme of career development for trainees.
Participates in the improvement of quality of patient care (Total Quality Management Programme, Quality Assessment Improvement Programme) as applicable.
Participates in and/or actively supports approved research projects.
Strives to improve his clinical expertise as well as standard of practice with regard to morbidity and cost effectiveness.

Acquires and maintains a valid certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Evaluates and treats patient for whom he/she is responsible within the level determined by his/her Consultant in order to achieve the optimal level of patient care.
Completes his/her professional training.
Conducts research to study the anatomy and diseases peculiar to the heart.
Motivates departmental staff by effectively leading, directing and motivating employees to perform to the best of their abilities.
Conducts performance evaluation sessions to review employee work performance. Conducts disciplinary meetings when appropriate.
Performs other related duties as required.
Serves on PSCC committees as requested.
المهارات
Education/Licensure
Essential: Medical Degree from a recognized medical college.
Essential: Saudi Board or equivalent higher qualification in General Surgery.
Essential: For local applicants - fulfills the requirements of Saudi Council for Health Specialties and holds a valid SCHS Professional Registration ID.
Desirable: Sub-specialty Certificate in Cardiac Surgery
Professional Experience
Essential: A minimum of two (2) years structured experience in Cardiac Surgery in a recognized center, after obtaining the qualification in General Surgery, or after the Board in Cardiac Surgery.
Essential: Experience in the organization of teaching of undergraduates and postgraduates and paramedical training.
Personal qualities/skills
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
Ability to speak, write and read Arabic and English.
