Role Purpose:
An interior designer creates, presents and implements design concepts according to a client’s spatial needs and wants. Responsibilities include project research, concept development, client presentations, sales consultations, budgeting, preparation of quotation, supervision of project execution, quality control and execution management. An interior designer may also oversee a team of designers who create products (including partitions and furniture) for a project based on the design plan.
Principal Accountabilities:
Acquiring/collecting key information about potential projects through contacts with: - local and international architecture and design firms.
Key persons and decision makers in ministries, public companies, private companies, universities, schools and hospitals.
Collecting information on future projects through newspapers, magazines, internet newsletters and websites,
Maintaining a record of all collected information and sharing the information with the management and sales team.
Following up with sales team to get regular updates on projects and incorporate those in the tracking record document.
Acquiring the necessary technical information about the products through training sessions, catalogues, websites and the direct contact with technical and design personnel of the suppliers.
Developing the knowledge in one of the brands leading to his/her nomination as “Ambassador” of that brand.
Meeting with customers (or only female customers) visiting the company showroom to introduce the products and services provided by the company.
Investigating and searching about new brands, products and services to be added to the company’s portfolio in order to develop and extend the business.
Preparing the market study about new brands, products and services and making the necessary proposal to management.
Understanding client’s requirements and budget through direct discussions with individuals and /or reading of projects documents and drawings.
Selecting the adequate products to match the client’s needs and budget.
Preparing a detailed illustrated proposal after consulting management about prices to be submitted.
Following up with sales and/or clients to provide any additional information or clarification relating to the quote.
Providing the client with catalogues brochures, data sheets and samples.
Producing and providing to client working drawings, designs, plans, models, schemes, perspectives and mood boards whenever required.
Preparing and participating to the presentations to the client whenever required.
Maintaining the company’s library and making sure that a reasonable stock of catalogues and brochures is available.
Preparing costing sheet for each contract detailing the cost of products and services.
Reviewing the technical specifications and drawings prior to management signing new contract to make sure that no changes have been done between tender and contract documents.
Contacting the suppliers to request the best prices for products and services.
Preparing the technical part of the “Purchase Order” based on the correspondences with suppliers.
Sharing with the finance department and management the information on the commercial part of supplier’s proposal in order to issue the PO to the supplier.
Preparing shop drawings and submittals to get the client’s approval.
Working in a team with other designers;
Supervising work at the design stage and execution on-site ;
Working closely with projects team to provide the necessary assistance allowing them to deliver the projects in the best conditions.
Exercising discretion and independent judgment to perform design and applications using computer aided equipment and software.
Assuming responsibility for overall completion of design and related tasks for assigned projects.

المهارات
Education: bachelor’s degree in interior design
Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in similar position in a design firm or a furniture company.
Special Skills: Interior designers must have strong written, oral and visual communication skills.. Interior designers must be creative within the constraints of a budget. Knowledge of computer design software (including AutoCAD) and illustration techniques is a must.
Other: Must have a team-oriented attitude, an attention to detail and an ability to meet deadlines. Familiarity with design standards is also required.
