Performs Ultrasonic diagnostic procedures.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
1. Reviews exam orders/requisitions, reviews corresponding protocol, and asks questions of superior(s) and prepares for exam as needed. Selects proper equipment depending upon depth of field, organ and area of interest.
2. Performs scanning procedures with attention to patient care, quality imaging and efficient management of time. Communicates with the Ultrasound physicians to ensure that all images are satisfactory.
3. Explains procedure to patient.Instructs patient regarding contrast medical and medicine, and required positions and assists patient in assuming position.
4. Archives images and submits all images and pertinent data for subsequent use.
5. Performs and documents equipment quality control procedures. Informs supervisor or section head of equipment malfunction and/or need for repairs. Calibrates equipment and performs routine maintenance and documents this accordingly.
6. Cleans and sanitizes the used equipment after finish with every patient.
7. Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
8. Participates in self and others education, training, and development, as applicable.
Education
Bachelor s Degree in Radiological Science/Technology required for Saudi Nationals or Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program (minimum 2 years ) for non-Saudi is required.
Experience Required
Grade 08:Two (2) years with Bachelor s or four (4) years of related experience with Diploma degree is required.
Grade 09: Four (4) years as Ultrasound Technologist at KFSH&RC;. Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the last four (4) years. Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continued medical education [CME].
Other Requirements(Certificates)
Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required. Registration with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or equivalent for non-Saudis is required.
