Summery
A Chef de Partie - bakery is responsible for the oversight of all bakery items that are prepared in their section. A successful Chef de Partie must be very knowledgeable about their specialty, as well as culinary functions in general. A person in this role must also be very organized and comfortable working in a high-pressure environment. A Chef de Partie Baker must also be able to give orders within their section, as well as reliably carry out orders handed down to them by the Sous Chef and Head Chef.
Qualifications
Any culinary degree/diploma
Must have worked at least one year as a Chef de Partie in Hotels and Restaurants
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
Strongly committed to teamwork and customer service
An eye for detail to achieve operational excellence
Chef de Partie Baker your responsibilities and duties:
Follow “Clean as you go” work habits.
Do any special duty requested by your Line Manager.
Follow safe work habits and notify the Line Manager of any dangerous or unsafe place in the work area.
Make frequent suggestions to you in order to bring the standard up and keep your interest on the job.
Take the lead for all dessert production.
Produce production schedules
Check pastries on a daily basis.
Follow all recipes as provided by the Line Manager
Follow the menu grid.
Report all problems immediately
Follow the time management schedule
Prepare evaluations for subordinates incorporation with your supervisor.
Check all provisions received from the storeroom and report discrepancies immediately.
Support in Training. Make weekly reports to the executive chef if the training was received.
Have all show-pieces prepared in a timely manner, whenever required.
Be food cost-conscious, check wastage
Cleaning procedure on a daily basis according to company standards.
Keep your personal appearance in top shape and to company standards, lead by example.

Requirements:
2 years of experience as CDP Baker /Baker Chef in a large hotel/resort pastry operation or cruise ships.
2 years of experience as Cook Baker in various hotels or restaurants.
2 years of experience as Assistant Cook Baker
Good artistic bakery skills for various buffet displays and show plates. Has the ability to taste all bakery standards to assure correct preparation.
Ability to read, interpret and demonstrate the preparation of recipes.
Knowledge of Sourdough Bread
Knowledge & Experience of Lamination
Ability to work with minimum supervision and experience in training subordinates in large quantity bakery preparation and good knowledge of quality bread operations.
Extensive knowledge of food handling procedures with regard to public health standards.
Ability to work positively and cooperatively in a diverse team environment to meet overall established time frames for the entire foodservice operation.
Ability to learn and utilize knowledge of policies and practices involved in the human resources function.
Ability to supervise an international team of entry-level cooks and chefs in a positive and productive manner by motivating, developing, and managing employees as they work.
Ability to utilize and administer the disciplinary action process through coaching and counseling to improve performance or recommend termination of employment.
Ability to communicate tactfully with department heads, coworkers, and other employees to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions.
Completion of high school or basic education equivalency preferred.
Computer knowledge is required.
Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and cordially with guests.
Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures.
The ability to speak additional languages such as Arabic Spanish, French or German is a plus.
Be able to compute basic arithmetic.
Physical Conditions :
Full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal, and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats. Has the ability to lift and/or move up to 25kg.
