Job Description and Requirements
ROLE SUMMARY:
SAR is looking for an enthusiastic Mobile Operations Inspector to deliver prompt and effective response to all real time Railway Operations and front line response activities.
An ideal canddidate will have strong communication skills as this job requires to communicate within internal stakeholders i.e. Operations Control Centre, Rolling Stock Maintenance, Infrastructure Maintenance, Meniral & Cargo, Passenger Operations as well as Network Planning & Management.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Undertake level crossing inspection, faulting and maintenance, accurately report all work completed/not completed.
• Identify and progress closure or implement other necessary control measures to reduce level crossing risk as low as reasonably practicable
• Where necessary and appropriate, undertake the role of Rail Incident Officer [RIO], take responsibility for the command structure being set-up and lead the co-ordination of the infrastructure and service restoration activities.
• Produce / maintain records as required.
• Attend accidents / incidents affecting infrastructure as directed by the Operations Control Centre.
• Undertake operational support duties as required e.g. performance monitoring, weather related contingency planning, audit work, engineering works, vehicle monitoring, stores ordering.
• Provide on-site liaison with the Infrastructure Maintenance teams as necessary, in order to minimise disruption to the train plan as a result of programmed maintenance or ad hoc repair activities.
• Maintain response equipment in good mechanical order and keep vehicles clean and tidy.
• Assist the Senior Mobile Operations Inspector with management of all safety of the line requirements. This will include effective communications, SPAD and Level Crossing risk mitigation, rules and regulations, and standards compliance/requirements.
• Work as directed by the Senior Mobile Operations Inspector.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Diploma degree (Preferred)

• Ability to engage with customers, and build collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
