As a Test Architect you will be responsible for the overall test automation framework using latest industry standard open source tools & technologies to drive test automation across different platforms such as web, Mobile and API testing. Acting as an idea champion and facilitator of quality practices across other departments in the Digital enterprise at the portfolio level. The candidate must have years of hands on technical experience in testing, designing automation frameworks, designing test harnesses and enablers like test data creation, best practices in creating CI / CD pipelines and continuous testing and scale these practices across the organisation. You’ve facilitated or been part of quality transformation programs in varied environments and understand the challenge’s quality transformations go through. The role glues together departments across the organization to help the QA department to facilitate quality right from idea inception to deploying the product and monitoring during production for products developed in scaled agile and waterfall delivery models. This role is critical to drive new ways of working and ensuring the prime quality objectives of the transformation are met. You have practical and in-depth understanding of scaled agile framework and quality practices as well as exposure with waterfall models. You are informed and opinionated about the latest trends in software development with a burning passion for quality.
Key Accountabilities
Be a hands-on contributing member of the Digital Quality Assurance leadership team to foster continuous quality practices, adoption of best practices, risk management and cost reduction across the enterprise
Providing technical leadership in facilitating the adoption of a continuous testing and DevOps culture across the organization and specifically in the QA department. Provide the vision and technical leadership to develop and evolve next generation automation frameworks and testing harnesses across the enterprise and be seen as a thought leader in the testing community
Be a vocal champion and enabler of Automation, Agile testing practices, Lean Software Development
Facilitating the testing leadership team to implement quality engineering processes and standards across the enterprise
Provide technical leadership for establishing automation enablers including test data creation / mocking
Assisting with the setting up and configuration of build and test environments.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Requirements:
Excellent knowledge of test automation methodologies, processes, best practices and tools with 6+ years of hands on experience in developing and enhancing frameworks
Proficiency in Java programming language and coding design patterns is a must
Demonstrable skills in developing automation frameworks using BBD (Cucumber JVM, Appium) and integrating with CI pipelines
Ability to lead technical testing through structured test architecture
Strong understanding of driving adoption of Agile Testing and Test Automation across the teams whilst understanding the limitations of Test Automation.
Experience providing strategic technical consulting to automation test engineers
· Expert in any one of BDD tools, ideally Cucumber
· Ability to use and understand advanced features of web browsers and mobile applications (including cloud based solutions like perfecto, BrowserStack)
Knowledge of testing core banking applications would be a plus
· Experience in using Jira/confluence or similar software lifecycle management tools.
