Deputy Project Director – PROCUREMENT & LOGISTICS

Job Description and Requirements
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Provides direction and management for medium-sized projects or several small projects and ensures on-schedule completion within or below budget per contractual obligations. The Deputy Project Director (DPD) is responsible for the scope development, scope management, and commercial performance of the project to meet project goals and objectives. Plans and defines program goals and devises methods to accomplish them; develops in-depth knowledge of client objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies. The Deputy Project Director should be familiar with the integration of engineering/technical aspects, as well as procurement and construction activities. This level of Project Manager typically manages projects up to $50 million in total installed cost.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Acts as the Company representative with the client and selected subcontractors during the program execution. Planning and managing the procurement of logistics, warehouse, and transportation services for the Client to enhance business development and ensure customer satisfaction.

The position reports directly to the PMC Program Director and will work closely with internal and external program stakeholders and the related supply chain personnel in supporting and overseeing logistics procurement and services to ensure everything the logistics program needs is in place to perform efficiently and effectively. Establishes the program requirements for all areas of the project and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria. Responsible for the development and distribution of a one to two-page description of the project to all members of the project team for reference.

Plans, directs, supervises, and controls the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions under the Procurement & Logistics branch of the program. The Procurement & Logistics branch includes the Site Logistics, Transportation Logistics, Site Security, Site Maintenance & Environment, Shipping, Warehouse & Storage Management, Visit Protocol Events Management, Installation Management, Mock-ups/Samples Cataloging Management, and Closeout Management. The DPD – Procurement & Logistics assigns responsibility for executing project plans to key subordinates after careful assessment of how to utilize their qualifications and strengths. The DPD provides input to performance reviews and development plans for subordinates. Field responsibilities may include labor relations, local procurement, and payroll operations if required.

Responsible for introducing process improvements in the supply chain and identify new vendors/suppliers without jeopardizing quality and service delivery.

Ensure effective lines of communication to ensure the timely delivery of materials and finished goods using the most appropriate procurement procedures.

Develop and manage the logistics suppliers through selection, evaluation, and performance measurement.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual procurement strategy plans and progress reports as required.
