Job Purpose:
To oversee and manage Procurement function, including bidding process, vendor selection and final agreements to ensure that procurement process is progressing in a continuous cost-effective manner and in a professional way.
Key Accountabilities:
• Review and negotiate contracts with suppliers to achieve appropriate savings and service levels. Review project procurement contracts; coordinate contract compliance, change orders, and problem resolution in conformance with contract law. Manage relationships with external contacts, including removing obstacles to ensure optimal team performance.
• To plan, organize and undertake the procurement activities for the Construction Projects, including permanents materials and temporary works materials, in accordance with the specifications, drawings, schedules, site QA/QC, safety and environmental procedures and time requirements within budgeted cost levels.
• Manage the process of developing RFPs and other procurement documentation and provide approvals.
• Develop vendors’ selection criteria and standards to ensure that the optimum quality of services and resources are provided cost effectively.
• Conduct the activities involving the identification and establishment of local, regional and international supply sources in order to identify the most competent vendors.
• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure effective procurement process. Resolve complex purchasing problems escalated from buyers with an appreciation of the cost-effectiveness of solutions.
المهارات
Qualifications & Experience:
• Engineering degree in relevant discipline preferably with accredited procurement certifications.
• Over 10 years relevant experience in procurement related function including at least 5 years experience in project management/construction sector.
