Duties and Responsibilities:  5.0 Duties and Responsibilities 5.1 Responsible for total patient care, including admissions, discharge procedures, medication orders and treatments. 5.2 Assists the physicians in performing special invasive procedures. 5.3 Under the direction and guidance of the Head Nurse, Closely monitors cardiac and physical status of patient under his/her care. 5.4 Assist and participate in emergency situation for prompt control of changes in patient’s physical condition on or resuscitation in process. 5.5 Able to perform the techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation accurately and effectively. 5.6 Keeps abreast of changing techniques in critical care nursing and maintains a high level of expertise in critical care. 5.7 Accepts responsibilities delegated by the Head Nurse or team leader and evaluates the nursing care provided in the area assigned. 5.8 Provides leadership in the interpretation and application of the philosophy and objective of nursing service in assigned area. 5.9 As a team leader, should obtain the abilities and skills of staff assignment based upon individual patient need, guide the team and solve problems according to unit/hospital Policies and Procedures Guidelines. 5.10 Maintains the patient’s clinical records; assist with the execution of the physician’s orders; keeps accurate problem oriented nurses notes according to audit committee standards. 5.11 Assist the physician with procedure and treatments. Administer treatments including sterile procedures. 5.12 Guides personnel in evaluating patient’s needs. 5.13 Performs patient care within the principles of team nursing, reporting pertinent observations or complaints to the team leader/or Head Nurse. 5.14 Assist Head Nurse or charge nurse in personnel work evaluation. 5.15 Administers medication according to hospital policy. 5.16 Practices economical use of equipment and supplies, informs proper authority of discrepancies. 5.17 Attends and support in-service education program. 5.18 Participates in or initiates Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and codes when necessary. 5.19 Serves on Nursing Committee when requested. 5.20 Participates in orientation of new staff and Saudi Arabian trainees and students. 5.21 Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff. 5.22 Participates in patient/family teaching and discharge planning. 5.23 Requires knowledge, skills and attitude to perform the job responsibilities.

Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with BSN degree
