Data Governance Specialist

Job Description and Requirements
As the successful candidate you will hold a bachelors’ degree in Computer Science or a relevant field.

You will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in exploration data management systems, data governance and end-user interfaces.

Preferably, you will have a strong understanding of databases, data quality, and data analysis procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:

Establish and govern Exploration enterprise data governance implementation to ensure that data is collected, stored, secured and shared correctly.

Roll out an enterprise wide data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of Exploration data and the protection of sensitive data through revisions of data quality, policies, standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture.

Apply systematic mechanisms to exploration data process for controlling, assessing, improving and maintaining data quality to make informed business decisions.

Coach business partners to establish and enforce data governance guidelines and frameworks.

Interpret information relying on knowledge of business functional frameworks.
