Regional Mapper

Job Description and Requirements
As the successful candidate, you will hold a Bachelors’ degree in Petroleum Geoscience, Geology or related field. Masters’ degree or PHD is preferred.

You will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience with a major oil/gas company.

Competency in using major industry interpretation software packages (Petrel is preferred).

Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be expected to perform the following:

Conduct regional exploration studies and evaluation of the petroleum system elements in new entry and frontier basins.
Perform 2D & 3D seismic mapping (especially with low quality data) from prospect to regional scales.
Develop mapping and identify new plays from interpreted regional 2D and 3D seismic datasets, well and field data, and outcrop information where available.
Analyze regional stratigraphy and structural framework for basin modeling and/or structural restoration (regional and prospect scale).
Integrate regional geology data to prospect generation, and review structural geology in rift basins and salt tectonics.
Develop a fully risked and volumetrically assessed prospect inventory for all leads and prospects identified.
Review clastic and carbonate depositional systems in tectonically active basins.
