Job Summary:
The Senior Registrar is responsible to provide Medical Care to the patient assigned to him/her in Out-patient, In-patient and during On - Call duties. And assist in supervising junior medical staff and responsible of medical cases attending the Emergency Room and the Primary Care Clinics as well as in other facilities within the Hospital.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The employee will:
1. Provide consultation and attending care for critically ill cases within his/her competence.
2. Provide comprehensive and diligent medical care to all assigned patients, including post operative care and such emergency procedures within incumbent’s competence including, but not limited to the following:
3. Provide appropriate assessment of those patients to whom he is assigned in ER according to the stander of critical care.
4. Ensure medical records and other medical reports timely completion and keeping in patients charts br Registrar, Resident and Interns in accordance the hospital’s standards for patient medical records.
5. Review, modify discharge and death summaries as well as special reports as delegated by Consultant.
6. Provide supervision to interns, trainees, residents, registrar when filling-in request and follow up of results of laboratory and related diagnostic examinations.
7. Ensure that admission notes for all new patients include differential diagnosis, and possible lines of investigations are available.
8. Discuss and educate patient and families and proved all documents they needs.
9. Participate in committees assigned to him within the department and/ or the hospital wide committees.
10. Receive consultations from other departments for critical care and responds to them. Assesses, reassesses and reviews patients in ER and wards for expert opinion.
12. Respect the patient rights according to the hospital policy and inform him about his responsibilities when needed.
13. Be aware of standard precautions for infection control and implement the infection control (IC) guidelines in his day to day activities.
14. Abide rules and regulations as narrated in Medical Staff Bylaws.
15. Perform job within the scope of his/her granted Clinical Privileges.
Education and Licensure:
- Graduate from an accredited medical school possessing MBBS degree.
- Higher professional Degree Saudi, etc. or its equivalent or fellowship or its equivalent qualification from accredited National/International University or College.
- Current valid license as register to practice his/her sub specialty medicine recognized by Saudi Council for Health Specialties.
- Current valid certification of Basic Life Support or obtaining that within 6 of commencement of employment.
Professional Experience:
• Required: After obtaining high medical degree or fellowship in his/her sub specialty.
• Required: Registration in Saudi Medical Council and/or current license to practice medicine in Saudi Arabia. Current valid license to practice medicine in the area of his specialty.
Specialized Knowledge& Skills:
• Fluent in English
• Good Communication Skills
• High level of interpersonal experience
• Computer skills
