Job Description and Requirements
As the successful candidate, you will hold a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from a recognized and approved program.
You will have a minimum of 9 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. This will include a thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, and International National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) codes, standards, and specifications. A NACE Certified Internal Corrosion Specialist is preferred.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:
Provide technical guidance to Operations and Engineering for the chemical treatment, monitoring, and analysis of the Company’s piping and pressure equipment. This should include support for operations in the field, and inspection in day-to-day activities related to metallurgy, welding, and corrosion control.
Support the development of the Operations and Maintenance (O&M;) and operating budget plan for the corrosion control program.
Regular monitoring of identified Integrity Operating Windows (IWOs) within the pipelines system that may affect the degradation of piping and equipment. Maintain monthly IOW unit reviews for the pipelines system. Make recommendations based on deviations from IOW limits.
Participate and support the activities of projects design review for all data pertinent to corrosion control and required chemical treatment.
Lead the activities of the corrosion monitoring program, and data gathering. Provide technical input and look for initiatives, studies, and the continuous improvement of solutions and problem-solving to improve the pipelines operations.
Initiate detailed work outline and make decisions as to basic approaches, processes, and/or equipment. Perform work and/or delegate work to other engineers for final development of specialized or technical proposals.
Assist in performing root cause analysis, coordinate failure analysis activities, and recommend mitigation methods for corrosion and materials issues, including repair strategies and replacement decisions.
Assist in developing and implementing welding and Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) procedures and troubleshoot welding problems when they occur.
Network with other Corrosion & Materials Engineers in professional organizations to learn from, share location experiences, and assist in the review and improvement of Company standards, asset integrity management systems, and corporate corrosion control programs.
Discuss, coordinate, and resolve any related corrosion issues with personnel throughout Saudi Aramco and subsidiaries and outside of Company organizations. Act as technical consultant when required.
Develop the scope and description of technology items, and lead the implementation and operation of developed solutions in the field.
