Job Description and Requirements
As the successful candidate, you will hold a bachelor’s degree in Electronic & Instrumentation Engineering or Control System Engineering from a recognized and approved program.
You will have a minimum of 9 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including experience on gas compressor/turbine control system with a recommendation of the General Electric (GE) product Mark IVe and MarkIVeS, as well as a thorough knowledge of engineering practices, and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, international codes, and engineering standards and specifications.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:
Capable planning, preparation, and execution of startup and commissioning activities for turbine controls such as gas turbine control application and the startup and commissioning of compressor control systems.
Supervision and technical direction of craft labor and technicians, performing troubleshooting of turbine controls and related interface devices.
Perform administrative functions such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, and preparing job status reports, reports to customers, and time and expense sheets on a complete and timely basis.
Interface and communicate effectively with operations, maintenance, and engineering (OME) customers and internal functional teams.
Be aware of, and always conduct work activities in compliance with, environment, health, and safety (EHS) policies and international standards.
Strive to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction in all transactions and relationships.
Prepare functional logic descriptions, in English text form, extracting the functional requirements from Process & instrument Diagrams (P&IDs;), system descriptions, component specifications, and other plant design documents to define the objectives of control system modifications, noting the reason for the logic change and the basis for making required changes.
Review operational data from the affected GTs or other similar frame applications to identify the current operating characteristics that will be used as a benchmark for the development of control system enhancements, utilizing PI, Excel, or other data acquisition software.
Prepare design documents, specifications, work procedures, checklists, validation or test plans, and as-built drawings per our procedures that are required to achieve the operational improvements.
Provide diagnostic support for the resolution of issues by performing root cause analysis and recommending improvements to control system logic or hardware, including HMIs, CPUs, software, instruments, and actuators.
Support communications with control system engineers to obtain consensus on logic and hardware modifications and to promote unified control system applications.
Make suggestions for product and service improvements that will increase customer satisfaction with our products and services.
Support ISO 9001 audits and compliance efforts, and, where possible, and enhance the documentation.
Support the development and training of plant OMEs helping to operate and maintain the equipment reliably and safely.
