Job Description and Requirements
As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Geophysics or Physics from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree is preferred.
You will have Twenty years’ experience as a Petrophysicists, with at least 5-10 years in in unconventional plays, including shale or tight gas, with some US experience in unconventional hydrocarbon basins required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:
Conduct all tasks related to petrophysical characterization using a combination of data sources including well logs, cores, remote sensing surveys and geologic analogues.
Build and implement robust workflow for integrated Shale/Tight gas plays formation evaluation, including developing new techniques/models and writing codes (programming)
Conduct regional petrophysical studies and make recommendations to drilling, completion and reservoir engineering groups
Integration of all data sets into consistent, verifiable petrophysical models for incorporation into static and dynamic reservoir models (volumetric prediction and development planning).
Ongoing collaboration with industry leaders on the evolution of new petrophysical techniques and technologies being developed, and communication of these to the team.
Develop and deployment of new petrophysical techniques and technologies, including collaboration with multidisciplinary team to ensure robust and consistent application.
Liaise with operations on log data acquisition and QC; communicate changes in acquisition programs. Update existing petrophysical models with new data as it becomes available.
Assist in drilling location selection and field development planning.
Make recommendations on testing, completion and stimulation programs.
Mentor and coach less experienced log analyst.
