C4 Chain Technology Specialist

Job Description and Requirements
As the successful candidate, you will hold a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field with master’s degree preferred.

You will have 15 years of experience in the petrochemical industry with a significant portion in butadiene and C4 chemical manufacturing facilities.
You will have strong knowledge of technical capabilities of major related C4 chemical processes, including product quality and improvements.
You will be current with emerging PE technologies and be able to champion the successful development of improved polymerization and processing techniques. 
You will have good communication skills and be comfortable working independently and effectively with cross-department teams and through vertical organizational levels. Candidate will be the Company’s core technical representative in the Butadiene and C4 Chemicals business. Ideally you will have previous leadership experience in C4 manufacturing and technology management.
You will demonstrate excellent presentation, interpersonal and networking skills with the ability to interface effectively with internal engineering, R&D;and technical service groups.
Part of your role will include business travel both domestically and internationally.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You are required to perform the following:

Leverage strong technical capabilities and broad knowledge of various butadiene extraction technology and recovery of petrochemicals from steam cracker Crude Butadiene.
Apply deep knowledge of the plant and process operations for butadiene and C4 chemicals production (MTBE, isobutene, butene-1, etc.) and demonstrate awareness of complementary fuels and chemical technologies and derivatives in the integrated C4 value chain (alkylation, KLP®, InAlk®, metathesis, butanols, oxo-alcohols, isononyl alcohol, so on).
Act as lead technical consultant in comparing, ranking, and recommending the best licensable technologies for optimum recovery of C4 petrochemicals.
Provide expert consulting on global C4 plan operations or major capital planning activities and liaise with business teams and technical service engineers as needed. 
Remain current with emerging C4 technologies and able to champion the successful improvements and optimization of C4 chemical assets and provide technical support to the Company’s chemical operations, evaluate new project opportunities, and benchmark the Company’s C4 recovery capabilities and assets.
Consult on potential mergers and acquisition due diligence by advising on the condition, technical capabilities, and potential of existing assets.
Act as independent technical advisor for R&D;or Product Application work to ensure that leading edge development of C4 value chain innovations will support the creation and defense of sustainable market advantage.
