Communications Technician

Job Description and Requirements
Shall be required to perform a variety of semi-skilled and / or skilled tasks related to preventive maintenance, alterations and repairs of the building and equipment Employee may work independently as part of a regular maintenance crew and may be required to perform “ON CALL” duties and must have the ability to make logical decisions based on facts and with attention to technical details.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs scheduled maintenance and testing on the following (but not limited to) systems & equipment:
Paging System
Telephone System (inside and outside plant)
Master Antenna T.V. System & Distribution.
Nurse Call System.
Public Address System
Intercom & Interphone System
Data Networks
C.C.T.V (Closed Circuit T.V ) System
Door Access/Entry Control System
Magnetic Door Holders
Audio Visual Equipment
Alterations: Performs a variety of tasks related to alteration and modification of the electronics & communication function, systems & equipment of the hospital.
Service Calls / Repairs:  Performs a variety of tasks related to & including but not limited to the following system and/ or equipment:
Paging System
Nurse Call System
Public Address System
Master Antenna T.V. System.
Computer Network
Intercom & Interphone Systems.
Telephone System ( inside and outside plant)
Audio / Visual Equipment
Hospital electronics & communication equipment (e.g. telephone sets, pager, receivers, T.V. sets, Remote Controls etc.
Fully aware and actively implement the departmental policies and procedures, local and international accreditation standards or requirements related to the department.
Facilitate requirements of Utility Management System relevant to organization wide functions and processes.
Actively involves in indicator development, data collection for the department and to measure the performance of the function, process, and outcome.  Whenever required, conducts analysis and interpretation of data/information collected.
Participate in hospital Safety Management & Risk Management Programs. Actively reports incidents in the system and whenever needed, participates in incident review, and root cause analysis.
Performs other applicable tasks assigned within the level of his/her competence as required by the department Manager.

Necessary Knowledge and Experience:

At least three (3) years work experience in the same field

Diploma in Electronics Technology from recognized university/ institution.
