Since 2014, Niagara College KSA (NC KSA) has operated technical and vocational training colleges throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in support of the Vision 2030 initiative and in partnership with the Colleges of Excellence (CoE). Headquartered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, NC KSA provides community and customized training based on Niagara College Canada’s expertise and international track records as one of Canada’s most innovative and enterprising applied learning post-secondary institutions. With a strong focus on developing ‘world-’ and ‘work-’ ready graduates, NC KSA specializes in delivering a number of quality programs designed to prepare young men and women for successful entry into the workforce in the areas of Business, Event Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Information Technology and Graphic Design. All NC KSA campuses also offer a foundation program for English language development.
Applications are invited for the position of ESL Instructor in the Healthcare Language Program, Niagara College KSA, male campuses and female campuses. Reporting to the Academic Manager, Healthcare Language Training Program, ESL instructors are responsible for providing academic leadership, outstanding instruction and an effective learning environment for students. This position has a duration of 6.5 months, with possibility for renewal.
The proposed start date is February 18th. It is expected that the successful candidate be flexible in terms of hours of work and maintain confidentiality, diplomacy and tact regarding internal and external relations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist the Project Manager and Human Resources staff with faculty recruitment, hiring, training and ongoing professional development
Responsible for the management of faculty workload assignments
Organize and supervise instructor, staff and student orientation
Work with Project Manager to support and guide teachers on program curriculum, systems and practices
Assist in the development of retention processes and systems to ensure critical enrolment and retention targets are met
Responsible for implementation and development of program quality assurance practices
Prepare data reports for internal and external stakeholders
Coordinate the development and submission of lesson plans and records of work
Work with instructors to identify students at risk, classroom behaviour issues and plan remedial action
Resource ESL teaching material and strategies to supplement classroom instruction
Provide ongoing curriculum, pedagogical, and IT support and mentoring to teachers
Oversee and respond to faculty observations and performance reviews
Manage student progress, learning supports and remedial learning opportunities
Provide assistance in the development and monitoring of departmental budget
Contribute as a member of the NC KSA campuses management team, to the growth and development of the campus

Required qualifications, at a minimum, include:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from a recognized university where the language of instruction is English. Acceptable programs of study include: English Language, English Literature, TESOL, Applied Linguistics or Education with an English Teaching Major
A Master of Applied Linguistics, Master of TESOL or Master of Education with TESL/TESL is considered an asset
Recognized TEFL/TESL teaching qualifications equivalent to CELTA level or above
Non-native speakers must have an IELTS 7.5 or higher academic certificate
Three (3) years’ management or supervision experience in ELT program for adults
Five (5) years’ experience in ELT teaching for adults
Experience teaching and delivering ESP Healthcare Program is considered an asset
Demonstrated training and/or experience in the implementation and integration of multimedia technologies in an ESL/EFL language-learning environments
Experience in web-based technologies & computer-assisted language learning
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
Experience supervising/mentoring faculty and developing student-centered curriculum
Experience developing and monitoring an expense budget
Thorough understanding of the linguistic and cultural needs of the student population in Saudi Arabia
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Outlook)
Experience implementing and/or using a Learning Management System (LMS)
Excellent effective communication skills with students and staff at all levels
Superior analytical, time management, prioritizing abilities and collaboration building skills
Experience living/working in an international environment
