Since 2014, Niagara College KSA (NC KSA) has operated technical and vocational training colleges throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in support of the Vision 2030 initiative and in partnership with the Colleges of Excellence (CoE). Headquartered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, NC KSA provides community and customized training based on Niagara College Canada’s expertise and international track records as one of Canada’s most innovative and enterprising applied learning post-secondary institutions. With a strong focus on developing ‘world-’ and ‘work-’ ready graduates, NC KSA specializes in delivering a number of quality programs designed to prepare young men and women for successful entry into the workforce in the areas of Business, Event Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Information Technology and Graphic Design. All NC KSA campuses also offer a foundation program for English language development.
Applications are invited for the position of ESL Instructor in the Healthcare Language Program, Niagara College KSA, male campuses and female campuses. Reporting to the Academic Manager, Healthcare Language Training Program, ESL instructors are responsible for providing academic leadership, outstanding instruction and an effective learning environment for students. This exciting career opportunity offers the ideal candidate a once-in-a lifetime educational development experience in an international environment to deliver outstanding language training within the Health Program.
This position has a duration of 6 months, with possibility for renewal.
The proposed start date is March 1st. It is expected that the successful candidate be flexible in terms of hours of work and maintain confidentiality, diplomacy and tact regarding internal and external relations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Delivery of approximately 20-25 hours of English language instruction per week
Prepare teaching and learning plans consistent with defined learning outcomes / objectives
Prepare evaluations to assess student comprehension of objectives
Incorporate educational technologies to meet student learning needs
Provide a learning environment which makes effective use of available resources including educational technologies and the College-approved Learning Management System
Participate in curriculum and consultative committees and departmental faculty meetings
Evaluate student progress / achievement and assume responsibility for the overall assessment of the student’s work within the assigned courses
Monitor, incentivize and report on student attendance as per the program guidelines
Develop and create a learning environment that is conducive to success for all students
Liaise with community members and engage in program and College promotion
المهارات
Required qualifications, at a minimum, include:
Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university in English Language or Literature, TESOL, Applied Linguistics or education with an English teaching major. Master’s degree in the above is desirable
Recognized TEFL teaching qualifications at CELTA level (must include a practical assessed teaching component and must not be online) or above (DELTA level is desirable)
Non-native speakers of English should present a recent (maximum within 2 years) IELTS 6.5 academic certificate (or equivalent) to show they have the bilingual ability to teach English with at least a 7.0 in speaking. Non-native instructors of English must present the IELTS certificate before an interview can be confirmed
Three (3) years of teaching experience in the post-secondary, technical or vocational sector. Five (5) years of experience is desirable
Demonstrated training and/or experience in the implementation and integration of multimedia technologies in an ESL/EFL language-learning environments
Experience in web-based technologies & computer-assisted language learning (CALL)
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
