Events Account Manager

Your role will be to manage various client events from inception to delivery, so it’s important you have both excellent client facing skills as well as the required project management ability to ensure you can deliver on time and to budget. You should be capable of developing creative solutions to client briefs, able to work closely with clients to fully understand their objectives to recommend the most appropriate solution. As an Account Manager you will maximise sales, profit growth and service delivery for key accounts and efficiently develop new business within the manufacturing and packaging arena. You will maintain accurate records, provide timely, accurate and competitive pricing and lead, coach and support colleagues. Charged with delivering a first class new business sales effort, account management, end user support, account reviews and ultimately account retention, you will deliver a sizable budget, seek opportunities to expand revenue streams and work with colleagues to increase our client’s Exhibitions, Events and Sponsorship footprint. The ideal, degree educated candidates will have a minimum of 2-3+ years proven sales/account management experience gained in the manufacturing or packaging sectors. Experience gained within the Exhibitions, Events and Sponsorship sectors would also be highly advantageous. You will possess the ability to communicate clearly with exceptional concision, have a structured approach, solid time management and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a performing team. You will have high levels of self motivation and ultimately be seeking to secure a long term career within an industry leader that offers excellent training and prospects.

The Role
· Ensure quotations are processed within customer specific SLA, looking for best pricing and reducing costs · Quotes are technically vetted as required
· Handling product specification enquires within timely fashion
· Issuing product data sheets/information as required
· Ensure customer price lists are maintained
· Maintain Account documents on a regular basis Sales Order Processing
· Ensuring product and service orders are placed within customer specific SLA
· Issuing customer reports as required
· Monitoring and managing customer orders to ensure delivery within customer specific SLA Post Sales
· Returns are logged and managed to completion
· Invoice queries are resolved promptly and the Query log is managed
· Ensuring credit notes are processed promptly as required
Managing the accounts receivable process, processing customer receipts using EFTPOS terminals, updating customer’s records and reconciling the customer accounts
· Managing the collection process, contacting customers to investigate reasons for non payment, resolving customer queries and general chasing of debts via telephone, letter and email communication
Sales: Selling exhibition stands, sponsorship and digital products/services to agreed targets and timeframes. Ensuring monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting is accurate and revenue targets are achieved/exceeded. Identifying and winning new business.
Strategic planning: Creating annual sales and new business strategy. Contributing to strategic product reviews. Contributing to the wider aspects of the products, including product development, digital management, media partnerships, event development, conference/seminar content.
Team management: Managing, coaching and developing a Business Development Executive to achieve and exceed target.
Key accounts: Building on relationships with key accounts, ensuring maximum spend and engagement.
The Person
Must have experience of upselling and cross selling
Negotiation and objection handling skills with excellent customer service skills
A well spoken excellent communicator
Highly competent in using Microsoft office packages in particular Microsoft Excel
· Ability to quickly identify and resolve discrepancies
· Excellent communication, planning, organisation and time management skills
· Dynamic and able to be flexible to a fast changing environment
· Ability to work quickly and effectively to deadlines

Demonstrable ability to immerse self in chosen market sector, its issues and players and apply that knowledge strategically to the overall direction and market positioning of the event/product
Excellent oral and written communication skills, comfortable presenting and selling at high level
Proven ability to identify and seize new business opportunities
Knowledge of the telecoms, CRM, customer service or contact centre industry preferable
Ability to prioritise tasks to deadlines and needs of the product cycle
Collaborative team player and contributor across a varied mix of personalities
Excellent objection handler and problem solver.
You will be the lead on various projects, inspiring creativity and engagement. Organising and facilitating creative meetings, enabling and overseeing creative content solutions for videos & events and supporting material for projects. Demonstrate an understanding of client strategy to advise and steer content.
Be able to demonstrate you expertise in budget management, content development and how to bring alive messaging in a conference environment. You must be passionate about events and be able to demonstrate your experience of high-profile international live events, conferences
The successful candidate will take ownership of achieving - and exceeding - sales & digital revenue and sponsorship targets across the portfolio. They will demonstrate the ability to flex between a ‘consultative sell’ with key accounts or trade groups to a ‘hard sell’ across whitepapers and webinars through to custom networking events.
