Identifies all I&C;/ DCS & SCADA Engineering : Design review /preparation of I&C;/ DCS packages for large scale Industrial, Water & Power Plants Projects, Review the Vendors documents and Check the technical accuracy/adequacy with project specifications/codes/customer requirements, List of Design Documents & Deliverables, Reviewer for the P&ID;’s, process system functional descriptions / operation philosophies, process elementary diagrams related to I&C;, DCS Control logic & loop diagrams and descriptions, I/O List and instrumentation list preparation, DCS Control Communication Network diagrams with different protocols (FOC SM & MM, Modbus, TCP/IP, Ethernet, OPC, RTU, RS485/232 etc.), CEMS, TIMS, all kinds of Flowmeters & Control Valves, BOP Field & Analytical Instrumentation, I&C;Cabling Overviews and Interfacing connection diagrams between DCS/SCADA and Sub-systems, Cable List preparation and termination details in coordination with AKZ & KKS Numbering systems.
Coordinates / Collects / Provides, during the design process, the interface Data, information, I&C;inputs to electrical discipline (Normal & UPS load list, I/O’s to be interfaced with DCS/SCADA, hook-up drawings and process connection details, etc.) as well as the I&C;interface inputs to mechanical discipline (Review of P&ID;’s design, mechanical equipment specifications, BOP system descriptions, etc.), Familiar with start-up & shutdown sequences and Hazop analysis.
Familiar with potential Vendor DCS/SCADA and Instrumentation System Vendors, e.g. GE, Siemens, Emerson, ABB, Schneider, E+H, Rosemount, Krone, etc.
Provides technical support (short stay on-site if required) to construction and testing & commissioning / start-up teams within his discipline during the projects construction and T&C;stage, FAT attendance with TPI/Customer if required.
Identifies all Tendering in Power Generation & Water Bids (RFQ’s follow-up & Bid tabulation forms, prepare technical comments and deviations/clarifications, prepare BOQ’s & Comparisons, cost benefit analysis), as well as partial procurement for each project.
Prepares the technical design submittals, materials, and purchase & variation orders, analyses and resolves the technical and operational problems.
Deep knowledge and exposure to some design software packages in the discipline (Ladder diagrams, Function Blocks, etc.)
Ability to work under pressure, having problem solving capabilities, accepting responsibility, work as a part of a team (work collaboratively with his colleagues in the division and other internal staff divisions) , having good communication skills and liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and contractors.
