Mechanical Engineer for big co in Saudi Arabia

Profile:

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for leading a team of Technicians and ensuring sufficient resources are available to maintain the plant efficiently, economically and safely. The role requires hands on practical maintenance experience of modern Combined Cycle Gas Turbines, associated plant and preferably Desalination plant. 

Reporting to the Lead Mechanical Engineer, the post holder will be expected to be a self starter with the ability to maintain high levels of focused drive and energy who can work well with others towards the achievement of specific goals and objectives.

Core Competencies

Technical

• Practical knowledge of major mechanical component maintenance associated with CCGT plant and desalination processes
• Leads the Mechanical Maintenance Technicians and ensures a high level of efficiency in the Team;
• Ensures a safe working environment for himself and the Mechanical Technicians whilst working on any equipment.
• Plans for and ensures that maintenance of all mechanical equipment is in accordance with OEM Manuals for the equipment;
• Organising spares, tools and equipment to carryout mechanical engineering activities
• Maintenance planning to ensures maintenance tasks are completed by the Technicians as per Work Orders generated in SAP;
• Performs trouble shooting activities as necessary to determine failure conditions and rectifies defects found;
• Health and Safety and company safety rules
• Computer literacy
• Good command of English Language

Experience

At least 5 years’ maintenance experience with extensive exposure maintaining and repairing rotating and static equipment in a power generation and water desalination environment.  At least 3 years working in a Supervisory role.

Education:

Engineering related education to diploma level is the minimum requirement and a supervisory or management related qualification is preferred.
