Electrical Engineer for a big co in Saudi Arabia

Profile:

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for leading a team of Technicians and ensuring sufficient resources are available to maintain the plant efficiently, economically and safely. The role requires hands on practical Electrical maintenance experience of modern Combined Cycle Gas Turbines and associated plant equipment. 

Reporting to the Lead Electrical Engineer, the post holder will be expected to be a self starter with the ability to maintain high levels of focused drive and energy who can work well with others towards the achievement of specific goals and objectives.

Core Competencies

Technical

• Practical knowledge of major electrical component maintenance associated with CCGT plant such as Gas turbine driven Hydrogen cooled generators of GE and along with basic knowledge of desalination processes
• Practical knowledge of corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance activities related to Generators, Transformers, MV&LV;motors, MV&LV;switchgears comprising of Vacuum Circuit breakers& air circuit breakers, SF6 Gas insulated switchgears, Protection relays, UPS, Battery chargers and Motorized valve actuators.

• Leads the Electrical Maintenance Technicians and ensures a high level of efficiency in the Team;
• Ensures a safe working environment for himself and the Electrical Technicians whilst working on any equipment.
• Plans for and ensures that maintenance of all electrical equipment is in accordance with OEM Manuals for the equipment;
• Organising spares, tools and equipment to carryout electrical engineering activities
• Maintenance planning to ensures maintenance tasks are completed by the Technicians as per Work Orders generated in SAP;
• Performs trouble shooting activities as necessary to determine failure conditions and rectifies defects found;
• Health and Safety and company safety rules
• Computer literacy
• Good command of English Language

Experience

At least 5 years’ maintenance experience with extensive exposure maintaining and repairing electrical equipment in a power generation and water desalination environment.  At least 3 years working in a Supervisory role.

Education:

Engineering related education to Graduate level is the minimum requirement and a supervisory or management related qualification is preferred.
