OPERATION MANAGER
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for the performance, management, and continuous improvement of the company’s IT systems and customers’ services. Key duties will include:
- Defining and managing a portfolio of projects in line with IT strategy and agreed budgets, to streamline IT operations
- Ensuring services are delivered within contractual service levels
- Improve resilience and security of the IT infrastructure
- Seek to reduce overall costs where possible.
- You will also be responsible for line managing lead, support and manage a team of technical support staff responsible for the operations, installations, maintenance and enhancements of the company’s systems and assets, including the day to day management and supervision of activities, the conduct of staff appraisals and development of the team, as well as management of performance issues.
- Responsible for operational availability, integrity, performance and security of all components of the company’s computing infrastructure to meet the business demands
- Responsible for implementations of projects are in accordance with the approved group and business strategies, within the allocated budget and executed in a timely manner
- Responsible for proper documentation structure, layout, systems and policies/procedures and standards
- Provide advice to senior management on availability of new technologies to improve business processes
SKILLS
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent.
- PMP or PMI certification or ITIL certification
- ISO 2000 knowledge or previous implementation
- At least 8 years of working experience in technical support (PC, Apple, Server, OS, application software), systems and network administration (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, LAN, VLAN, switches) with minimum 3 years in supervision roles or similar capacity.
- Experience in managing a large enterprise network environment is a plus
- Experience of Data Centre management.
- Preferably worked with Internet Service Provider
- Knowledge of Data Centre best practice and industry standards.
- Organized approach to defining and developing IT data centre, hosting and technology services.
- Ability to spot opportunities and provide solutions to problems.
- Proven people management/leadership experience

- Knowledge of Storage Solutions and Virtualization highly advantageous .
- Possess good time management, problem solving skills and communication skills
