Duties and Responsibilities

1.Plans, evaluates, implements and documents educational programmes to meet the needs of patients.

2.Prepares Educational material with the assistance of the Patient Education Committee and disseminates these educational materials to the patients, Nursing Units and Out Patient Area.

3.Prepares of individual standard programmes for common health problems.

4.Acts as an educational consultant to nursing and other departments.

5.Responds to all educational patient needs and follow up as required.

6.Maintains statistical analysis.

7.Liaises with the Medical and Nursing team concerning educational requirements of patients and provides instructions on special educational needs.

8.Member of the Patient Education Committee.

9.Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement and Patient Safety staff development activities.

10.Demonstrates and educates patients using medical equipment (medical devices) before discharge.

11.Performs other duties/ tasks within the realm of his/her knowledge, experience, and ability as required.

المهارات
1.Current working knowledge of developing patient educational programs.

2.Clinical knowledge of medical/ surgical, pediatric, and maternity practice.

3.Demonstrates good standard of teaching and leadership skills.

4.Knowledge of Arabic culture and customs desirable.

5.Fluency in Arabic & English, highly desirable.
