Job Description and Qualifications

II. POSITION SUMMARY

The incumbent will have the responsibility of setting up the H2FM operation in the region for Air Product Qudra (APQ). The role is accountable of establishing a safe, reliable operation, and maximizing profitability through contracts and asset management, customer relationship. Effectiveness in the position is dependent on strong operations leadership, interpersonal, analytical skills, and a thorough commercial understanding of the H2FM business and technology. The incumbent will coordinate with AP’s regional large project business development teams, Air Product GEMTE, external technology providers, engineering companies and customers to assess the market opportunities and identify prospects. Incumbent must understand the design and execution phase of the project to make balanced, life cycle cost decisions on equipment and assets to satisfy business need.

The incumbent must develop an operating strategy for all aspects of this operation and provide adequate timely response with knowledge and understand of the regional market.

The incumbent would be responsible of identifying opportunities and form a business development task force team which will lead all aspects of the opportunity including screening for economic viability, developing proposals, negotiating contracts, and then maintaining overall commercial responsibility for the investment during project execution. The opportunities will range from $3MM to over $100MM with complex technical, commercial, contract, and financing structures.

III, NATURE AND SCOPE

The incumbent will be the lead and central focal point for all activity related to hydrogen mobility (H2fM). The primary interfaces for this role include customers, partners, internal and external engineering teams, internal and external legal counsels, external advisors, and operations teams.

The incumbent will need to balance the objectives of various stakeholder groups to develop a compelling value proposition to our customers and enables projects to be developed at or above our capital return targets. The complexity (scale, technologies, financing, and commercial arrangements) of these opportunities will be amongst the largest and most complex undertaken by APQ. The incumbent will interface with the senior executives of some of the largest companies in the world and will need to be successful selling to that level.

V. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

This position is accountable for the following end results:

Establishing hydrogen mobility (H2fM) business and operations for APQ in Saudi Arabia with full P/L responsibility.

Establishing safe and reliable operation.
Develop work processes and systems to meet operations requirements
Work closely with controllership support on P&L;budget and forecasting
Interacting with the company’s local partners and coordinating the investment opportunities across the region for identifying and undertaking sale of hydrogen opportunities
Developing opportunity detail reports for internal approvals and cross functional team alignments
Coordinating with business decision support, operational and maintenance and engineering teams for creating economic evaluation models and screen opportunities.
Developing the high-level technical, commercial and contractual scopes to create the optimal value proposition.
Determining the commercial and financial structure for each opportunity that can include several equity owners and different capital structures (including non-recourse financing)
Leading the negotiation of all agreements that can include hydrogen supply, Utility, offtake, asset purchase, land lease, shareholder, and other ancillary contracts.
Develop the opportunity pipeline for projects at all stages of development to meet our growth objectives
Achieve profitability targets by winning projects at or above our target returns and within an appropriate risk profile.

V. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

8+ yrs of experience in operation, commercial management within an industrial manufacturing sector
5+ yrs experience selling technical solutions to senior executives. Experience with a build, own, operate model of large projects is preferred.
Strong technical, industrial gases business and financial acumen including cash-flow analysis and capital structures
Aptitude in managing external customer relationships including problem solving, resolving differences, and handling supply issues
Experience negotiating large complex contracts and sale of gas contracts
Creative thinker who can develop strategies and solutions to complex issues
Experience managing cross functional teams
BS Engineering or higher
