Lead Materials Handling Specialist Engineer

Job Description and Requirements
Wood is seeking a Materials Handling Specialist Engineer for their Al Khobar office, Saudi Arabia for the COTC Project. The Specialist Engineer will be responsible for equipment specification and procurement support for a wide array of material handling systems.

Prepare mechanical data sheets, technical specifications, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations and technical clarifications.
Prepare calculations and equipment selections for material handling equipment.
Manage interfaces with vendors and other disciplines and contribute to client coordination.
Review and coordinate the structural design regarding equipment supports. Note, equipment will be located inside a building with associated space limitations and complex interfaces.
Prepare 3D model and reviews.
Manage 2D / 3D designers with respect to equipment layout and preparation of GA drawings.
Update equipment list with equipment vendor data

Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 15 years’ experience of working with engineering consultancies for design and engineering of various material handling systems and associated equipment e.g. Belt Conveyor, Screen, Feeders, Bucket Elevators, Bin Vibrators, Hoppers & Chutes, etc. Should also be conversant with domestic and International material handling codes and standards.
Shall be conversant with drafting software e.g. AutoCAD, Micro station, Smart Sketch, Blue Beam and 3D model software AVEVA E3D or equivalent.
Preferably with material handling experience in Refinery / Petrochemical / Chemical / Oil & Gas / Mining or Metals industries. Knowledge of Sulphur Recovery Units would be an advantage
