Lead Design Engineer

الوصف الوظيفي
1) Supervision duties
- In-charge of the design works to ensure adherence to Client’s / International Industry codes and standards as well as department’s practices and procedures that develops the most cost-effective execution of discipline engineering works.
- Interfaces with the Client’s Representative, Consultants, Management, other engineering disciplines and Site Engineers pertaining to engineering services.
- Liaise with other design team members internal and external, represent the business at meetings.
- Support with department training/mentoring activities to junior engineers
2) Design Works
- Undertake design and consultancy work including systems design, specifications and schedules; provide reports and advice to Clients.
- Prepare design calculations in accordance with all relevant standards and legislation adopting all necessary standard formats and procedures.
- prepare sketch drawings in sufficient detail to enable draft persons to produce satisfactory detail drawings as required for tender, construction or other purposes.
- prepare particular project specifications and schedules adapting standard specification information where possible.
- prepare bills of quantities in accordance with current Standard Method of Measurement documents.
- carry out site supervision duties as necessary to ensure woks are installed in accordance with contract documentation and good engineering practice.
- Assist in the development of project pre and post tender designs.
- Implements the QA/QC requirements in designs.
3) Provide technical support
- Provide technical information/advice to design engineers/draftsmen.
- Propose and/or develop value engineered alternative solutions (during design or construction phases).
4) Other duties
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the line manager.

المهارات
1) Trade Skills:
- Familiar with all the process engineering methodologies as well as the corresponding equipment, materials, consumables, tools and manpower allocations related to industrial projects. Well versed in interpreting and executing process related drawings.
- Experience with the following processes and technologies: coagulation, media filtration, ultra-filtration; electro deionization; wastewater evaporators and crystallizers; and chemical feeds.
- Familiarity with demineralization, thermal desalination and potable water/sanitary wastewater regulations is desired.
2) Interpersonal skills:
- Ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
- Decision making ability and leadership skills.
- Time management and organization skills.
