OVERVIEW
Role Title: Labor Law Expert
Reporting Relationships Group Chief Legal Officer (Dr. Muhammad Lotfi)
Company: ALJCO Department: Legal – Litigation
Location:Jeddah
Role Purpose: Legal advisory – memorandum and contract formulation – conduction of legal and Sharia law research – internal investigation conduction SUBSTANTIAL OBLIGATIONS IPE Factor Communication: Position’s responsibility for communications both within and outside the organization. Key Activities Conduct studies and researches on the Labor field by utilizing various resources and references and selecting the relevant material to analyze the legal information to serve the purposes of the company.
Participate in preparation, review, and amendment of the company’s employment contracts of all categories, Internal Work Regulations and Policies in light of the laws and regulations in force.
Assess & draft the job description of legal department roles.
Participate in conducting investigations with the employees; ensure that investigation process is complied with laws & regulations in force; draft the ‘Minutes of Investigation’ forms; select the investigation team members; and provide a professional legal assessment on the incident subject of investigation.
Maintain professional ethics and comply with the company policies and procedures in implementing applicable penalty to certain violators of these policies to ensure compliance and discipline within the organization.
Distribute labor cases on legal advisors; supervise the process of handling labor cases; and draft, or assign legal advisors when necessary to draft, memoranda of all categories, revise them, and approve them for submission.
Prepare periodic and aperiodic reports on labor cases and their status.
Prepare case briefs (concise and detailed) upon request.
As regards actual and potential Labor Cases, draft amicable settlement agreements; outline proper measures for amicable settlements at any phase of the labor disputes; and supervise implementation.
Supervise the implementation of final labor verdicts.
Study and examine contracts of employment of the associates through review of company policy and procedures as to its legality to ensure that all contracts are prepared in accordance with the Saudi Labor Law.
Initiate warning letters and review termination decisions by checking its legality and accuracy based on the Saudi Labor Law.
Evaluate the composition of all paperwork required including, but not limited to, legal briefs, arguments, strategy, testimony, legal memos, complaints, motions, and appeals for presentation before competent courts and judicial committees.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS (IPE KNOWLEDGE)
Knowledge
Excellent knowledge of Saudi Labor Law & its Implementing Regulations; Social Security Law & its Implementing Regulations; and the Circulars in their regard
Education
Bachelor Degree in Law (preferably Master Degree, too)

Experience
5-8 year experience particularly in the field of Saudi Labor Law
