• Assist in performing all tasks necessary to achieve the organization’s Vision & Mission
• Work with the CEO on the strategic vision and assist in the development and negotiation of contracts.
• Participate in developing new business, specifically: assist the CEO in identifying new funding opportunities, the drafting of prospective budgets, and determining cost effectiveness of prospective service delivery.
• Prepares the hospital capital and operating budgets according to the hospital needs and submit to Hospital Director for primary approval.
• Participates in the Leadership Executive Committee for final approval of the hospital budget together with the approval of General Manager.
• Prepares for the establishment of departmental budgets with the departmental heads as components of the hospital budget.
• Ensure adequate controls are installed and that substantiating documentation is approved and available such that all internal processes may pass independent and governmental audits.
• Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including: organizational revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, reports to funding agencies, development and monitoring of organizational and contract/grant budgets.
• Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization.
• Monitor banking activities of the organization.
• Train the Finance Unit and other staff on raising awareness and knowledge of financial management matters.
• Ensure adequate cash flow to meet the organization’s needs.
• Oversee Accounts Payable.
• Oversee the maintenance of the inventory of all fixed assets.
• Identify in writing the scope of services provided by the department and coordinate the provision of those services with other departments as needed.
• Recommend space, equipment, staffing, and other resources needed by the department and have a process in place to respond to shortages.
• Ensure orientation and training of staff of the duties and responsibilities for the department or service to which they are assigned.
• Participate in the selection, prioritization, and monitoring of hospital-wide key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve quality and patient safety.
• Select department-specific KPIs and report the data to the Quality Improvement & Risk Management Department on periodic basis.
• Assess the impact of improvements including efficiency of complex processes, and/or reductions in cost and use of resources.
