Job Purpose
To manage the Projects Department in an effective and efficient manner to ensure the delivery of projects at cost efficient and timely manner and at the prescribed quality and cost.
Key Accountabilities
Management
Manage, train, coach and appraise each subordinate to ensure they are motivated and capable of preforming their roles.
Provide subordinates with the necessary software, hardware and other tools required to carry-out their jobs efficiently.
Mete out or recommend sanctions to subordinates in case of infractions to the company policies.
Budgets and Plans
Contribute to the preparation of the projects budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues and areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified.
Policies, Systems, Processes, & Procedures
Implement approved company policies, processes, procedures and instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.
Implement projects systems and standard procedures based on the best practices in managing projects and ensure compliance by subordinates.
Day- to-day Operations
Monitor the execution of projects to ensure that works are progressing as scheduled and issues are resolved in timely manner.
Reviews project documentation to ensure all required documentations and prepared as per the project life cycle.
Preside over meetings with project team and stakeholders to resolve issues with project execution, methodologies, timelines, or conflicts with operations.
Coordinate with various departments on matters relating to budget/finance, purchasing, human resources, IT, etc.
Lead the implementation of new product developments are implemented as required.
Recommend/approve department cost charges to cost center and capex in line with budget allocation.
Study/recommend different options/approaches to new or ad-hoc projects requiring decision from higher management.
Specific Accountabilities
Coordinate with department heads in preparing the list of projects proposed for the succeeding year.
Lead the process of elimination, categorization, classification and finalization of the list for submittal to the board for approval.
Reviews the project requirements & acceptance criteria in collaboration with the internal customer
Reviews the project scope, specification documents & project plan of each project to ensure that the are complete and aligned with stakeholders
Reviews & finalizes the required budget for projects by identifying required resources & gaining approval from senior management
Reviews tenders & quotations from suppliers & contractors evaluating whether they meet project requirements.
Reviews project plans & resource requirement.
Monitors cost spending in projects by conducting cost analysis and reviews to ensure technical projects are delivered in a cost-effective manner.
Manages & controls project resources such as budget, people, & hardware and software materials to ensure delivery of project at prescribed quality.
Reviews project risks & contingency plans to mitigate all identified risks and contingencies.
Continuous Improvement
Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
Reporting
Prepare reports timely and accurately to meet Savola and costing department requirements, policies and standards.
Health, Safety, & Environment
Monitor the adherence to all relevant safety and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
Related Assignments
Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.
المهارات
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
Language: Arabic & English.
Skills: IT – MS Office & ERP
Training in Advanced project management, Microsoft project & other project packages, managing resources, business analysis techniques, HACCP, ISO, OHSAS, Oil technology
Experience: 6 – 9 years’ relevant experience in FMCG.
